BATHROOM REMODEL

While we were gone for our winter vacation in Arizona, we had our master bathroom completely redone.  It has turned out real well.  The project went smoothly and there were only 3 or 4 telephone calls with questions for us on what we wanted.  We had picked out all the tile for both the floor and the new shower as well as the fixtures.  The plumber, electrician, carpenter and tiler just had to take it apart and put it back together with the changes and new stuff.  We want to thank Roman Richter who was the general contractor and also did the carpentry work.  He built the new vanity and linen/storage cabinet.  The following are the pictures of before, during and after.

This is a before picture of the vanity area with the divider wall.

Another before picture of the vanity showing the divider wall and the drop down area over the vanity.

Before picture of the inside of the shower.

Before picture of the end area of the vanity.

This is a picture of Styrofoam that was on the outside wall.  The crazy design is from a colony of ants that lived there some time in the past.  They probably left when we had the new siding put on the house summer before last.  Could be some "real" modern art.

Starting to be put back together.

New vanity with faucets and our stuff in place.

New light fixtures and mirrors for the vanity.

Pat's end of the new shower.   For some reason this picture looks more brown than it really is.  See the next picture for a better picture of the color.

Patrick's end of the new shower.

Soap/shampoo in place.

New linen/storage cabinet.

Shot of the new vanity from the door.   This compares to the very first picture at the beginning of this blog.

We also had the floor of our downstairs bathroom re-tiled.  This is after the old tile was removed.

PATRICKS BIRTHDAY

Today was my 74th birthday.  Never ever thought about getting to that age.   Maybe I am getting old enough now to know better.  We went to a casino for awhile this afternoon and then had a nice dinner at a local spot we like.  Below are the pictures for the day.

This is a shot of the full moon when I went out this morning to get the paper.  The plant on the left of the picture is the Ocotillo cactus in the front of house and the one on the right is the Bougainvillea bush.  You can't see it in the picture, but the Ocotillo is starting to bloom.  It has pretty red flowers.

Here is a little closer shot of the moon.

Sun just starting to come up.  The white streak is a con trail from a jet liner heading east.

Sun just starting to hit the mountains on the other side of the lake.

Sun is up and bright as ever.  The two black things in the upper part of the picture are Pigeons.

This is the casino we visited.  It is the Blue Water and is near Parker AZ.  It is located right on the Colorado river.   It was not a profitable visit.

This is the place where we ate this evening.  That's me in the middle of the picture.
