Today we had a visit by three turkeys. Don't have any idea where they may have come from., There isn't much in this area for them to live in on a regular basis. Maybe the turkey hunters chased them out of the woods from nearby. Have one picture of one by himself and the other two together.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;"> I think this one was sort of the leader.<br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaZaGAvLf1Fby7fRhH2XoXHIi4XJqwOK-Kzz096vwX7m85hvCZo5lMTinXHcegMkqkrPb6_QPO1Ep5nKFcUqgRDY3EdJJ4yElNWJ77911gWa2Y-hbuzKsfhv6qhM2OAxiDe7XuZY8gAAXO9axOd5ONnypM3cCLJbevAy08Qli5SF43l7LZKy9RFDmOzw/s3356/Turkeu.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2237" data-original-width="3356" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaZaGAvLf1Fby7fRhH2XoXHIi4XJqwOK-Kzz096vwX7m85hvCZo5lMTinXHcegMkqkrPb6_QPO1Ep5nKFcUqgRDY3EdJJ4yElNWJ77911gWa2Y-hbuzKsfhv6qhM2OAxiDe7XuZY8gAAXO9axOd5ONnypM3cCLJbevAy08Qli5SF43l7LZKy9RFDmOzw/w640-h426/Turkeu.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">Here are the other two.<br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyYJh0KAjB2CLT5xjm4O0mwZMnhuHA8eHcC_tlQAz0LqfJDbupmCM2D4vvvt9ZJ26UZYMrnvHrbP5qmMr4AYp4tEHG9VnjsGEfzwFefjX0I8XynfZ-UcNOSnzr4tkbWFMuhGU5zKrMvxQYvzLalPt9F7DYkOcSRY2bnk_nOYR8vpnbXtGQRrIchemw5w/s3701/Turkey1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2467" data-original-width="3701" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyYJh0KAjB2CLT5xjm4O0mwZMnhuHA8eHcC_tlQAz0LqfJDbupmCM2D4vvvt9ZJ26UZYMrnvHrbP5qmMr4AYp4tEHG9VnjsGEfzwFefjX0I8XynfZ-UcNOSnzr4tkbWFMuhGU5zKrMvxQYvzLalPt9F7DYkOcSRY2bnk_nOYR8vpnbXtGQRrIchemw5w/w640-h426/Turkey1.JPG" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td></tr></tbody></table><br /> Patrick</span><br /></p>The Patshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08784898373292993990noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5559959345373187898.post-49498950718695961132022-09-06T11:42:00.001-05:002022-09-06T11:42:44.933-05:00FOX<p> <span style="font-size: large;">We had a daytime visit by the Fox yesterday. We haven't seen him for a long time because he usually only comes at night. There has been a Fox here for several years now. He keeps the Rabbit population in check and picks up the Squirrels I dispatch when they are raiding the bird feeders. He looks to be in good shape and spent some time in the front driveway where Pat got the pictures of him with her I-pad. MALLARD<p> <span style="font-size: large;">There is a pair of Mallards that come up to the bird feeders quite often to eat and lately have been spending time just sitting and watching the world go by. If we go out while they are here, they will get up and move a short distance away and then come back after we go inside. We think it is the same pair we have had here in previous years. Guess they made it south and back again without getting shot by a hunter. Here are a couple pictures with them sitting and taking it easy.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;"> This is the close up shot. Before, we just had a flat board with an ice cream bucket cover on it to hold the jelly. The jelly melted and washed away in the rain and congealed on the hot sunny days. So, after seeing a store bought feeder that had a cover, I did my own design and made a new one with a clear top and open on all sides. It will protect the jelly and the birds. Below are pictures of the old and the new feeders.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;"> This is the old feeder.<br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDewi8Z3nKZ_ityKzgBBpotCX-pYo7l7ZWfmTWEvPgdMb3CP_R7buDwfEoSoXeTbNY68bPo0cpAyM3huxEN6MgmKiFEBPXhNvHXCsDge18_KHX8wiPQdc_PApLJKroL0JTrfhVzkaQ00B5-qpj0TMQv8KKwhGHWa0EPOIDI16ZNAxoUT9cFNhtRuhMaQ/s3774/BALTIMORE%20ORIOLE%20OLD%20FEEDER.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2516" data-original-width="3774" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDewi8Z3nKZ_ityKzgBBpotCX-pYo7l7ZWfmTWEvPgdMb3CP_R7buDwfEoSoXeTbNY68bPo0cpAyM3huxEN6MgmKiFEBPXhNvHXCsDge18_KHX8wiPQdc_PApLJKroL0JTrfhVzkaQ00B5-qpj0TMQv8KKwhGHWa0EPOIDI16ZNAxoUT9cFNhtRuhMaQ/w640-h426/BALTIMORE%20ORIOLE%20OLD%20FEEDER.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">This is the new feeder with a customer on board.<br /></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdjbHOPyvvTOx6sqMFaFgVMkJ5UWGTeT2-3hWLMxeLhMT35I5ma7UV_BAKEFujIFAooVrxSBNkYgIO_1TZMI_NmaWU5DkXeLMEysiP5wFL2CXuqFyqnDyBNMSg6MHEI0BjSlAox1P0pR-xv6I9QnZFMayWJvbOgFuKRGWwCKnfst2s1AirSPdRiV2FuA/s4415/ORIOLE%20NEW%20FEEDER3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2943" data-original-width="4415" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdjbHOPyvvTOx6sqMFaFgVMkJ5UWGTeT2-3hWLMxeLhMT35I5ma7UV_BAKEFujIFAooVrxSBNkYgIO_1TZMI_NmaWU5DkXeLMEysiP5wFL2CXuqFyqnDyBNMSg6MHEI0BjSlAox1P0pR-xv6I9QnZFMayWJvbOgFuKRGWwCKnfst2s1AirSPdRiV2FuA/w640-h426/ORIOLE%20NEW%20FEEDER3.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">Another shot of the new feeder. The console in the Yukon isn't big enough or flat enough to make a good table to put our sandwiches and drinks on safely. So, I have designed a small table that will fit on top of the console and provide plenty of room for our lunches. With the help of good friend Dan, I got all the pieces needed made and assembled. So we are all set for this years trips. Below are pictures of the new table.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">This is the table top. Starting at that time, I figured that I would have delivery by mid-summer. I was wrong. The virus screwed everything up. I started trying different dealers around the state to find one that could order the vehicle. I tried 7 different dealers. Finally, one of them contacted me in April 2021 and said that they had just received an okay from GM to order the vehicle I wanted. It was only because the salesman there remembered me from an earlier contact and contacted me to let me know his dealership had gotten approval for a 2021 GMC Yukon XL like I wanted. I can't thank Bob Yozamp with Miller Buick GMC in St. Cloud enough for all his help and keeping me in mind. The new vehicle was delivered to me on the 15th of June 2021. A year and a half is the longest I have ever had to wait to get a new vehicle. We have taken a short trip in it already and have a little over 200 miles on it. I think it is going to be a good one. Here are some pictures.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">Front and drivers side</span><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVjkxquPzIBJV4pGoay6b_sqQBGpvKN7KoEsluo-fZLABYUF4npCwXcsQwmb4Hwfe5j6CKV98aW8R5H_pl4yEmG1oGOpsd4-dg1xJ32p6_WDqvB6cLWFOS4zZ1cSpk81pA_himAaRgds1D/s2048/GMC21+front.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVjkxquPzIBJV4pGoay6b_sqQBGpvKN7KoEsluo-fZLABYUF4npCwXcsQwmb4Hwfe5j6CKV98aW8R5H_pl4yEmG1oGOpsd4-dg1xJ32p6_WDqvB6cLWFOS4zZ1cSpk81pA_himAaRgds1D/w640-h426/GMC21+front.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">Drivers side</span><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ7WDhNqPuvezvZZj1GL5CZKAtfoPDUlzmlhQfziq39F4FluWDJPcLV3D1lDQ0UaDYTP-VTyzFGVQGJwldQF9D2fdf4XmjUxVmHoU64dQFdUSvbXD9MsuFZi0HsgF2j9XXvHkSL84BQkOe/s2048/GMC21+left.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ7WDhNqPuvezvZZj1GL5CZKAtfoPDUlzmlhQfziq39F4FluWDJPcLV3D1lDQ0UaDYTP-VTyzFGVQGJwldQF9D2fdf4XmjUxVmHoU64dQFdUSvbXD9MsuFZi0HsgF2j9XXvHkSL84BQkOe/w640-h426/GMC21+left.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">Rear</span><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyGTheZ21Kfh2kgRg3gFPzNHviyRaUaKHc0pGbrC-UGj58KEbInaC5SbRqtXmk309dE0IkaKqhZ3Kxzx8feOvX2FxUUpJvB5S29CXnywr-6yy2xueAuSAz4o-gUyv47DcBDxvAMTamYBLz/s2048/GMC21+rear.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyGTheZ21Kfh2kgRg3gFPzNHviyRaUaKHc0pGbrC-UGj58KEbInaC5SbRqtXmk309dE0IkaKqhZ3Kxzx8feOvX2FxUUpJvB5S29CXnywr-6yy2xueAuSAz4o-gUyv47DcBDxvAMTamYBLz/w640-h426/GMC21+rear.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">Passenger side</span><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigma6iPuMz8J8KRlmULj77EO-8ZL5DAn8Wc77E717_vpBvSZvj_Iig7xEDTIRRfE1YChd7x1eHl1PD0Gf0VoCJnzcuO33WooQKhg5rAFPG8w2kwVGmRSiktUXjBUA0OEMFRkldO8RzN_ih/s2048/GMC21+right.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigma6iPuMz8J8KRlmULj77EO-8ZL5DAn8Wc77E717_vpBvSZvj_Iig7xEDTIRRfE1YChd7x1eHl1PD0Gf0VoCJnzcuO33WooQKhg5rAFPG8w2kwVGmRSiktUXjBUA0OEMFRkldO8RzN_ih/w640-h426/GMC21+right.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p><span style="font-size: large;">Patrick</span><br /></p>The Patshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08784898373292993990noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5559959345373187898.post-84474281274349407052021-06-11T07:30:00.000-05:002021-06-11T07:30:16.996-05:00NEW GUY<p> <span style="font-size: large;">There are several Mallard Drakes that come up and eat under the bird feeders on a regular basis. They do a good job of cleaning up the stuff that the birds knock off the feeders. This year, for the first time, there is a new guy in the bunch. It is a male Wood duck. We have never had any Wood ducks around here before. He seems to be all by himself as we haven't seen any others or any Wood duck hens. He is a nice looking fellow and seems to get along with the Mallards just fine. Here are some pictures of the Mallards and the Wood duck.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;"><br /> This is the Wood duck.<br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXRAi1lOYBHOGI5foJLCHs9HXGyvdcdn6MxCEf3TzlLanIXTDCjNvXViDuJ5B3IwKg_tupvsFlFf63dMLaroYw_jPSxZXETgdFUwrX4ewTHF7jHwEu4CcNyKO2tK8AhDxnrgxBvukc3COZ/s2048/Woodduck.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXRAi1lOYBHOGI5foJLCHs9HXGyvdcdn6MxCEf3TzlLanIXTDCjNvXViDuJ5B3IwKg_tupvsFlFf63dMLaroYw_jPSxZXETgdFUwrX4ewTHF7jHwEu4CcNyKO2tK8AhDxnrgxBvukc3COZ/w640-h426/Woodduck.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">Ducks in a row on the way back to the river. have two Hummingbird feeders right outside our kitchen window. We have
been having a lot of Hummers visiting lately. Now we have a female
bully that has decided that they are all hers. She sits on top of one of
the feeders and chases away any other birds that come around and I don't
think it is for social distancing. She is going to have a lot of work
to keep this up.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;"> </span><span style="font-size: large;"> This is the bully sitting on her throne.</span><br /></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz4HmXGo0V0minqOvuqoB-vxo_8Vu_c8TLEqWy8xQvnOi6c3lLnPm_AYpANVTLby4qPNWQ18vs1BK97NUY_WWFmhXViPNzS6igg25tY5mMZyMPkxgx6EHkZpFvsu2NhGcngGc1ICCNV4hd/s2048/Bully1.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz4HmXGo0V0minqOvuqoB-vxo_8Vu_c8TLEqWy8xQvnOi6c3lLnPm_AYpANVTLby4qPNWQ18vs1BK97NUY_WWFmhXViPNzS6igg25tY5mMZyMPkxgx6EHkZpFvsu2NhGcngGc1ICCNV4hd/w640-h426/Bully1.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">This is a close up of the bully.</span><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV6mVnHX5SBUlvhJT42fk12yCblYbphHJo_r893uiAkkr6BJiWq4CTNOAEZizjnG-vvQnL5kpEhzsy9JeLX3XQoZdXBxhLbwzBjS3V3TJwiSmFEcQtL776iCxpj0CgJLwxYJvtFQOYtSeh/s2048/Bully2.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV6mVnHX5SBUlvhJT42fk12yCblYbphHJo_r893uiAkkr6BJiWq4CTNOAEZizjnG-vvQnL5kpEhzsy9JeLX3XQoZdXBxhLbwzBjS3V3TJwiSmFEcQtL776iCxpj0CgJLwxYJvtFQOYtSeh/w640-h426/Bully2.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">This is her having a bite to eat.<br /></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSWDeY6kp-5LwyUUWqJvpEHoYEn_YAnGkOwmyU76GzFJR25RLl69MeYjaXOu9QUMKrnxR3gHp2qd6349XolrXiOfn0hHeRZiQ_bsSUJyTGh1dCQSCS0mOV1lcPOHChJgv7G3W4VsQdon6V/s2048/Bully.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSWDeY6kp-5LwyUUWqJvpEHoYEn_YAnGkOwmyU76GzFJR25RLl69MeYjaXOu9QUMKrnxR3gHp2qd6349XolrXiOfn0hHeRZiQ_bsSUJyTGh1dCQSCS0mOV1lcPOHChJgv7G3W4VsQdon6V/w640-h426/Bully.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">Patrick</span><br /> <br /></p>The Patshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08784898373292993990noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5559959345373187898.post-53953652102768276342021-04-14T07:08:00.000-05:002021-04-14T07:08:22.090-05:00APRIL SNOW<p><span style="font-size: large;"> It looked like for awhile that we weren't going to get our usual April snow this year. We have had days in the 70's and 80's recently and several rainy days. But, good old Mother Nature came through again with enough snow to make it all white out again. Hope it doesn't last long and the sunny days of spring and summer get here soon.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;"> Our backyard April 14, 2021. <br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_IoTBmCjV-pa0D6O8OT-KLbgzMWcXP4bWkLB8sJjeS68-CV6bkB86EHYnquFUZB4IxRFTbqg51rAHbT5rUK3zcs_fY9c9qHwnIWBBAGlLtoWRCYR-FCzt3UoutEYzAHqt9p4Mm3nackwz/s2048/DSC_0001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_IoTBmCjV-pa0D6O8OT-KLbgzMWcXP4bWkLB8sJjeS68-CV6bkB86EHYnquFUZB4IxRFTbqg51rAHbT5rUK3zcs_fY9c9qHwnIWBBAGlLtoWRCYR-FCzt3UoutEYzAHqt9p4Mm3nackwz/w640-h426/DSC_0001.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;"></span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">A good coating on the Gazebo roof.<br /></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLDTlhase7ZwM7cWsPnKJJXJw7DuhS9slkJ-oQa-gxfpaOtK11jctfzpDz7bfOMVh_vwVZfl-0VqrM0-ZDI_Uf7RREr152FeD73jRiEdjz3bL0RSSDjpt4wuu-A-Ftb4dE9krmPt2AnbeL/s2048/DSC_0002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLDTlhase7ZwM7cWsPnKJJXJw7DuhS9slkJ-oQa-gxfpaOtK11jctfzpDz7bfOMVh_vwVZfl-0VqrM0-ZDI_Uf7RREr152FeD73jRiEdjz3bL0RSSDjpt4wuu-A-Ftb4dE9krmPt2AnbeL/w640-h426/DSC_0002.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">All the bird feeders are well coated.<br /></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIq6Ix6YNQEKEzsWpsL6adhNCqORwoPD6k3R-6QRaZ0Q3Q0by5h1LZU6fVTZtgRmOHdqgz2KQ9iUwktu2DDn8aqzaxiVaETrh3TTTIJAsXiWMrZ6nPSNtmSJ-R-kLcmWK42sO2wkjYCAZk/s2048/DSC_0003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIq6Ix6YNQEKEzsWpsL6adhNCqORwoPD6k3R-6QRaZ0Q3Q0by5h1LZU6fVTZtgRmOHdqgz2KQ9iUwktu2DDn8aqzaxiVaETrh3TTTIJAsXiWMrZ6nPSNtmSJ-R-kLcmWK42sO2wkjYCAZk/w640-h426/DSC_0003.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">The front yard.<br /></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlsNf4LBoSkgKZlZVie1eYwdupPNL4UeHqroTJW9M_AJzEKMmw7yMCklfXomFYae5nzEcqa2LnQfZzSelk4H5Uqb5RHLbc84G_OCsLsqs5WTfbLQninlRv6h4aDU7Hd7zXsPaQdptqtMz4/s2048/DSC_0004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlsNf4LBoSkgKZlZVie1eYwdupPNL4UeHqroTJW9M_AJzEKMmw7yMCklfXomFYae5nzEcqa2LnQfZzSelk4H5Uqb5RHLbc84G_OCsLsqs5WTfbLQninlRv6h4aDU7Hd7zXsPaQdptqtMz4/w640-h426/DSC_0004.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: large;"></span></p><p><span style="font-size: large;">No grilling for a couple days.<br /></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpTIfAHEKtVKpTVciCliDu06GDKFPfZV5ydKrSqc7LKULqkRKclDvIeVrx13F6J1SenzGOUK5YtkJ4RbH1npIdOxR8Ku3T89UO1n8Dt_loU1BKP2rfIuSyFEIQyIGCNneXZvsvfpRIhvRf/s2048/DSC_0005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpTIfAHEKtVKpTVciCliDu06GDKFPfZV5ydKrSqc7LKULqkRKclDvIeVrx13F6J1SenzGOUK5YtkJ4RbH1npIdOxR8Ku3T89UO1n8Dt_loU1BKP2rfIuSyFEIQyIGCNneXZvsvfpRIhvRf/w640-h426/DSC_0005.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></div><span style="font-size: large;"><br /> Patrick</span><br /><p></p>The Patshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08784898373292993990noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5559959345373187898.post-5980583818110294842021-03-01T09:17:00.000-06:002021-03-01T09:17:05.333-06:00MISCELLANEOUS <p><span style="font-size: medium;"> <span style="font-size: large;">Here it is the 1st of March and it has been a good winter. The trip went well and we arrive safely. The first 3 days there are not a lot of things to take pictures of. The fourth day has some interesting things to snap. All of these pictures were taken from the car with it moving at around 75 mph. I wasn't driving, my dear wife Pat was at the wheel and did great. Hope you enjoy the pictures.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">This is the first mountain we see east of Flagstaff, AZ. It had snow this year, but there have been years in the past when it was bare. It is in the area where all the skiing is done for the Flagstaff ski area. <br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiSSoVeR5GfBu8svTkY28NnqZXH-22kTTVAIfK4JRFD-8vCW6lubKEkZJN9uyPEUjsRTr1WkkCcFaVJiS5waJHdave-fByIDjqjmDA2vM68ZEx4t1W-epnYgD3y_inEWPEvWqwPZq8K_xk/s2048/DSC_0003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; Yesterday the guy came to remove the stumps and get the spots ready for lawn again. The pictures will show a couple steps in the process. And, as a bonus, there is a picture of the first snow this winter. It is far to early, but has to happen I guess.</p><p><br /></p><p>This is what the stumps looked like after the trees were taken down. They were surrounded by a rubber edging and the area was filled with River rock. The flags in this picture were to mark a sprinkler head and the water supply line to it.<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnf4rvls72U0PWuyh89he7dtmPs5PoaOFaAXkc3PQv1N-ZMivLfvIU6jbts6G0whs52xlT7kdXWnlhgY40lgIsu8UktI7X36kQh2c4y85yWml4i03F0oay8E606Wg-FKaGqlHx4bvUYolk/s2048/Stump1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnf4rvls72U0PWuyh89he7dtmPs5PoaOFaAXkc3PQv1N-ZMivLfvIU6jbts6G0whs52xlT7kdXWnlhgY40lgIsu8UktI7X36kQh2c4y85yWml4i03F0oay8E606Wg-FKaGqlHx4bvUYolk/w640-h426/Stump1.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>This is how they looked after the edging and rock had been removed.<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8qn1Npe_9HVDOx1QRRAFxGeg8Pes9fB5yhPSe5Fcg6bWGhK8Vb6fJcIe6bYd-CTH0JgnRsjiBUMmzmG13bDLfrCHxclfymWMJ3Ftl0LBllgUZhs9NouTMnm0juFvmEZWffUOKuiojxYMQ/s2048/Stump1A.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8qn1Npe_9HVDOx1QRRAFxGeg8Pes9fB5yhPSe5Fcg6bWGhK8Vb6fJcIe6bYd-CTH0JgnRsjiBUMmzmG13bDLfrCHxclfymWMJ3Ftl0LBllgUZhs9NouTMnm0juFvmEZWffUOKuiojxYMQ/w640-h426/Stump1A.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>Here is the second one before rock removal<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwErhifn9EXb_2SLOuBOptDmYBwidvnrYL5tmcNBwssrJQ7eC_j9T7fUCaZANJjev4fDvhIl3eiY4hZVAi2dg4Kvc25SvKmOJMWP_fznsiplLqQPdqn1deEGRuQlXpfXS5x1VGPZSCAuaV/s2048/Stump2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwErhifn9EXb_2SLOuBOptDmYBwidvnrYL5tmcNBwssrJQ7eC_j9T7fUCaZANJjev4fDvhIl3eiY4hZVAi2dg4Kvc25SvKmOJMWP_fznsiplLqQPdqn1deEGRuQlXpfXS5x1VGPZSCAuaV/w640-h426/Stump2.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>Second one after rock removal.<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTcHSghadcHqCNn5ARIPs4NvQ1CGXbKniSt1SqevGqWHgCciggcOU_4PhdY0lZ-LRw1dcNwDBwMzOOICTz32rATS-9nO48KfSTGtwRhweWERQ-ZO3eS-aY5KeAtpzmR0Vhhy88os0ocRK-/s2048/Stump2A.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTcHSghadcHqCNn5ARIPs4NvQ1CGXbKniSt1SqevGqWHgCciggcOU_4PhdY0lZ-LRw1dcNwDBwMzOOICTz32rATS-9nO48KfSTGtwRhweWERQ-ZO3eS-aY5KeAtpzmR0Vhhy88os0ocRK-/w640-h426/Stump2A.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>This is how it looks after the stump has been ground away and black dirt has been added. They got it all done and it has changed the openness for viewing the river. Three of the trees taken down were dying and the fourth was always dropping limbs. Hope they make the second half as well. We also have many ducks in the area. We had three sitting on the dock this evening almost like they were "social distancing". There are between 25 and 30 others that come around a lot and we discourage them from staying because of all the mess they make. They are mostly the young ones from this years hatch. They will make some hunters very happy this fall. Enjoy the pictures.<br />
<br />
These are the "social distancing" ducks. I think it is a mother and two daughters.<br />

Two to replace one that died and two we haven't had before. Our Christmas Cactus finally bit the dust this spring. It had been on the decline for awhile. Now we have two new ones that we hope will make it big time. We also got two new Aloe plants. Haven't had any of them for many years. I use to have them, but they either died or got tossed along the way. They are great for soothing a burn. Just nip off a tip of one of the arms and rub it on the burn. They also help with an itch sometimes. My garden is up and growing, but I think this may be the last year. I can't get them to grow like they use to, and I have tried several fixes to no success. I think maybe I have tried to much and have the soil all screwed up. The plants are nice and green, but just not growing big like they should. The Cucumbers are taking for ever to grow and start spreading out. Hope they make a crop. I do have two nice Tomatoes and a Pepper plant in pots that are doing well. I notice this morning that there is one Tomato on one of the plants already and several more blooms. I am also experimenting with some Radishes in a pot. The tops are growing well, don't know yet if they will makes Radishes. Here are some pictures. Enjoy.<br />
<br />
<br />
These are the two new Christmas Cacti. The one on the right has been planted for about 10 days. The one on the left was planted today. <br />

It has been a struggle, but well worth it. The new one has been at the dealers for almost two months, but not ready because they couldn't get the leather material for the seats and we didn't want to take delivery until it was all ready. The dealer tried to talk us into taking the car and bringing it back when they got the material. We said no. The material was coming from California and couldn't be shipped because of the virus thing having the company shut down that was sending it. It did finally get here and looks great. Pat traded in her 2009 Toyota Highlander on the new one. For being 11 years old, it was in excellent shape and only had a little over 69,000 miles on it. Hope the new one does as well. Here are some pictures of both cars.<br />
